Career Day 2020 – A bridge between Students and Enterprises
(TVU) – Tra Vinh University Career Center has just successfully organized Career Day 2020 in July at Tra Vinh University, attracting dozens of businesses and more than one thousand students.
Career Day is an event organized by Tra Vinh University to take the students from Tra Vinh University and job seekers in Tra Vinh closer to enterprises and employers, as well as creating a bridge between businesses and students, so that the employees have a deep understanding about employers’ expectation and requirements toward their potential employees.
On this occasion, Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, came to visit the booths and had conversation with the enterprises, and extended gratitude to the businesses that have accompanied with Tra Vinh University for many years in career opportunities to graduates from Tra Vinh University, hosting students for Co-op training, internships, and providing scholarships. He hopes that students as well as enterprises will be able to find and apply for the most suitable job position thanks to this Career Day.
At the Career Day, a seminar was organized as a forum where the enterprises and the employee can exchange information so that the students can have more information about the enterprises and required skills for their future jobs. At the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Dung, the representative of THADI Agricultural Production, Processing and Distribution Joint Stock Company, had a presentation on overview of the company, company policy to the employees as well as positions available for graduated students and the required skills. With his experience in recruitment, he shared his feeling and thought about probation period, training process, criteria for recruitment as well as difficulties in the recruitment process, the balance between soft skills and the expertise in the “eyes” of employers, and how to create an impressive CV.
According to statistics from Career Center of the University, at the Career Day, emperies need to recruit more than 1.500 positions, in which, 500 job positions in Cambodia and more than 1,000 positions in the Southeast – Southwest provinces are for students at Tra Vinh University.
